AMA’s School Safety Patrol provides educators, parents and patrollers with the resources needed to create safe school crossings. We get to know each school and tailor the program to meet their unique needs. We coordinate training, provide access to equipment, conduct assessments, and offer additional guidance throughout the year. We also plan annual events and special incentives to help celebrate patroller achievements.
Our staff are a mix of experienced educators, safety experts, and event planners who all work to foster the best experience for patrollers and supervisors alike.
If you were raised in Alberta, you probably know a patroller. You may have even been a patroller. We have nearly 90 years of experience helping students get to school safely. And while the patrollers of today wear vests instead of capes (yes, patrollers used to wear capes), one thing stays the same for every generation: they’re all heroes at the crosswalk.
Although you may recognize AMA’s School Safety Patrol, you might still have questions about how this unique student-focused program works. If that’s the case, you’re in luck because we’ve rounded up the most common questions people ask us about the program. These questions and answers cover everything from the cost to join (spoiler alert: it’s $0) to how many patrollers typically join a team.
